What will happen if you cut sugar out of your diet for thirty days? Let’s talk about it.

Metabolic flexibility is a term used to describe how smoothly and efficiently your cells can adapt to utilize and burn fuel like fat, ketones, or glucose.

When you’re metabolically inflexible, this transition is very dysfunctional. Your ability to burn fat in a fasting state will be very difficult. If you can’t lose weight when fasting or exercising, this could be why.

Metabolic inflexibility can lead to diabetes, obesity, loss of muscle protein, and chronic illnesses. It can also cause irritability, fatigue, anxiety, and hunger. When you try to fast, you won’t feel very good, and you’ll miss out on certain benefits if you’re not metabolically flexible.

Insulin resistance is at the heart of this problem. Insulin controls whether you burn fat or not. If someone is metabolically inflexible, they have insulin resistance. Insulin tells the body not to burn fat and to store fat instead.

On the flip side, metabolic flexibility is really insulin sensitivity, and there are ways to make the body more metabolically flexible or insulin sensitive.

When you become more metabolically flexible, you’ll be able to fast for longer without hunger or cravings, burn fat, and burn sugar more efficiently.

How to transition your body into a state of metabolic flexibility and insulin sensitivity:
1. Eat less frequently
2. Eat fewer carbohydrates
3. Eat sufficient amounts of fat, but not excessive amounts of fat
4. Try exercise snacking (do short bouts of exercise throughout the day)

If you do these things for thirty days, it could have a significant positive impact on improving your metabolic flexibility and your overall health.

Let’s talk about how to detox the liver naturally and healthily.

The liver doesn’t hold or store toxins—it gets rid of toxins. When we’re talking about a liver cleanse, we’re talking about getting rid of fat, inflammation, and scar tissue in the liver. These things weaken the ability of the liver to detox.

The liver is the only organ that can completely regenerate, but there is a point of limitation.

Keep in mind that you can get rid of 50 percent of the fat in the liver just by going on a low-carb diet. You don’t need to get on a low-fat diet, but a low-carb diet is crucial.

Alcohol consumption can lead to fatty liver disease. But, one of the top causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is fructose.

• Fatty fish (salmon and sardines)

1. One cup of blueberries blended with a couple of handfuls of frozen kale and some water
2. One to two cups of whole milk kefir blended with one cup of blueberries and water (optional)

1. Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with the juice of one lemon (or one blended whole lemon) and 12 ounces of water

Tips For Making This Colon Cleanse / Liver Detox Smoothie

► How to prepare beets for smoothie? Just peel and quarter. Don’t bake them, you need the enzymes and nutrients intact!
► Liquid: It’s best to use plain water, don’t use juice yogurt or plant milk. Don’t overload and hinder it’s properties by adding extra sugar or fat.
► Frozen fruits and vegetables: Using frozen fruit or vegetables is the next best option. But since the fresh ones have the most of nutrients try to use crisp, freshly peeled (or not) ingredients.
► Make It Quick: still want the benefits and don’t have the time or access to fresh beets? The use Freeze-dried Whole-Root Beet Powder which is far superior than air dried.
► Substitute pear for apple (these two are the only fruits that pair well with vegetables in smoothies without upsetting your stomach),
► Add: turmeric powder or spirulina for extra benefits. I usually opt for this freeze dried organic spirulina. Increase the amount of ingredients gradually depending on your healing demands.
► Greens: Parsley is very healing, reduces bloating and is perfect for digestive health. I would not replace it with anything, but if you must, kale or chard is another good option.
► Healthy fats: fats are necessary for fat soluble vitamins to be absorbed by your body, so don’t skip the flax seeds (they also have fiber) or the hemp oil (which is full of omega-3).
► What is the best blender? To make the smoothies smooth you need a high speed blender. I use this Ninja (the only decent one I could find with glass pitcher and not plastic) or Vitamix (some people say it’s the best blender in the world).
